Cheryl Nelson, D.V.M.

I graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, I was an elementary school teacher. My hobbies are fishing, horseback riding, reading and raising and showing Boer goats. I love the outdoors and live on a small farm in Putnam County.

Lewis Janes, D.V.M.

I graduated from Ohio State in 1959, and owned my own practice from 1963-1999.

Erin Gray, D.V.M.

Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Florida and is an avid Gator Football fan.  Dr. Gray joined the Val-U-Vet team in March 2010 and works at all locations but primarily at the Deltona location.  She has an interest in animal behavior and has some helpful tips for owners of pets with behavioral issues.  (Separation anxiety, Inappropriate urination, Leash walking, etc)  If asked, Dr. Gray would say that the best part of her job is improving your pet's quality of life.  The fact that her patients are furry and cute doesn’t hurt either!!

Client Care Coordinators

Sarah YoungSarah

Born and raised in rural Missouri, I moved to Florida 6 years ago and still enjoy every day here in paradise!  I'm a recent graduate of DSC and I plan on returning soon to pursue my Bachelor's Degree.  I have one very vocal Schnauzer, "Calvin", my pretty kitty, "Sugar", and a three year old son to keep me on my toes.  I love interacting with people and their animal family members.  I look forward to seeing and working with you and your pet to enhance your overall experience at our clinic.

Cindy RonninCindy

I grew up in New York where my parents owned a 250 run boarding kennel.  We sold the kennel in 1986 and moved to Florida.  I started working in the veterinary field in 1987 as a technician but quickly decided that being a receptionist was better suited for me.  I love to interact with the animals as well as their people!  I really enjoy being a part of the Val-U-Vet team!  I live with my husband of 22 years, 2 teenage daughters, our rescue dog, Scrambles, 4 cats, and 3 very noisy Cockatoos!

Vet Techs

Philip SimmonsPhilip (Lead Tech)

After living in Atlanta, Ga for 17 years, I decided it was time for a change; a slower pace and a refreshed perspective.  Since that decision, I have had the distinct pleasure of achieving this end.  I began my journey as a veterinary professional at Atlantic animal hospital which was at the end of the road where I had moved.  Expecting to be walking dogs, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a technician position with on-site training.  I met the opportunity with great passion and quickly became a practicing technician.  While at the clinic, I met my lovely wife and we have recently been blessed with our first child Elisabeth.  I came to Valuvet for better opportunities and have been enjoying my time here for the past 6 months.

Bellamy O'QuinnBellamy

Hello, my name is Bellamy O’Quinn. I am originally from Murrels Inlet, SC.  I worked in a vet hospital for a little over a year before I moved to Florida in 2005.  While I’ve been here, I have gotten my associates degree in applied science at DSC.  I worked at a cat only hospital before joining the Valuvet team.  I love dogs, but I especially love cats.  I am starting the nursing program at DSC.  Whether it’s helping animals or people, I finally found something I’m passionate about.  Patient care is very important to me.  I’m glad to have a great staff to work with.

Theresa WrightTheresa

Hey, I’m Theresa.  I’m just starting out in the vet world, though it has been a passion of mine since I was a kid.  I recently graduated from Florida Institute of Animal Arts in March 2010 and started at Valuvet in May 2010.  I was working at an Elementary school, but realized being around animals and helping them was where I belong.  Now I can say I love my job and actually mean it!  And hey let’s face it, animals don’t talk back!  I’m in a wonderful relationship with the man of my dreams and have a loving family of four, that has the possibility of growing once we move into a new house. My family includes one pit/chow mix named Whiskey, two cats named Momma kitty and Slinky and one rambunctious son named Logan.  My dream is to one day own a cow or two.

Judy BusheeMary

I am originally from Milwaukee...Go Packers!  I moved to the area when I was 13 and just love it here.  I love to fish, dive, and spend time with my granddaughter.  I have been a veterinary technician locally for 15 years now and my love of all animals brought me into this field.  I look forward to helping take care of your fur-babies.
